My family and I have always loved the countryside and the wonderful surroundings we are fortunate enough to call home. Alongside our holiday accommodation, we also have a small exotic animal farm that has become a much-loved part of life here at Woonton Ash.
The idea for our shepherd huts came from a family friend who visited the farm and suggested that others would love the opportunity to experience the peace, wildlife and beautiful views we enjoy every day. Today, we're proud to welcome guests looking for relaxing shepherds hut holidays in Kington and Pembridge, where nature takes centre stage.
In 2022, we launched our first shepherd hut, followed by a second in 2024. These are not your typical shepherd huts on wheels. Each one has been individually handmade, full of character and designed to offer something truly unique for guests looking for memorable glamping holidays in the Herefordshire countryside.

At Woonton Ash Holidays, we have two beautiful, hand-built shepherd huts, each with its own character, charm and personality. Our huts have been lovingly handmade using reclaimed materials wherever possible, making them totally unique and full of rustic detail.
Both of our huts have been designed to help guests relax and enjoy the peaceful Herefordshire countryside. Each one has an outside wood-fired hot tub overlooking our small exotic animal farm, so you can sit back, unwind and enjoy the views after a day exploring Kington, Pembridge and the surrounding walking routes.
We have also chosen eco-friendly toilet systems and have tried to make the huts as thoughtful and sustainable as possible, while still offering comfort, warmth and everything you need for a memorable stay.
Bridie Rose is our larger shepherd hut and sleeps up to four guests. It is full of rustic charm and handmade features, making it a lovely choice for family holidays, groups of friends or couples wanting a little extra space while enjoying the peaceful Herefordshire countryside.
Four Seasons is our cosy shepherd hut for two guests. It is perfect for couples looking for peaceful shepherds hut holidays in Kington and Pembridge, with plenty of charm, comfort and lovely countryside views.
Both huts can be booked together, making them ideal for larger family holidays, group getaways or celebrations where everyone can enjoy the best of our countryside farm holidays.
One of the things that makes a stay at Woonton Ash Holidays so special is our small animal farm. It has grown over many years and is home to a wonderful mix of native and exotic animals, each with its own unique personality. Although it is not a petting or feeding farm, being able to sit outside watching our animals is not only peaceful but also unusual, giving guests the rare opportunity to enjoy both traditional farm animals and exotic species during their farm holidays in the Herefordshire countryside.
As a family, we have always loved animals and are proud to be small animal first aid trained. The health, welfare and happiness of our animals are always our top priority. This is why we respectfully ask you not to touch or feed the animals.
We kindly request that children and dogs are supervised at all times. Dogs must be kept on a lead outside the huts. The animals may look cute, but they could bite. Clear warning signs are posted around the site, and there is strictly no touching or feeding of the animals.
